EXPERIENCE
Denson Entertainment Group of Companies draws, primarily, on the founder's 25
years of experience in the live sound/production industries as well as post-production
sound for film. Kirk Denson has provided Sound Engineering and Production Management
services for ministries, organizations and individuals such as, the Gospel
Music Workshop of America, Reverend James Cleveland, Kool
& The Gang, New Edition, Kirk Franklin, Bishop
T.D. Jakes and The
Potter's House Worship Center. Having provided production services
for such a vast array of clients has proven to be beneficial, considering they
require the highest quality of equipment and facilities for performance, which
translates today to a demonstrated advantage over competition.
Kirk's
past employment with The Potter's House, as Senior
Audio Engineer, during the design and installation
phase of The Potter's House
Worship Center, proves to be of value to ministries as they strive
for production excellence. During his tenure, he persuaded the ministry to embrace
the transition from the analogue to the digital realm. He selected the highly
anticipated Yamaha®
PM1D digital console for the Front of House and Monitor mix positions.
This addition to the overall design of the sound system was accepted and the
ministry purchased a total of three consoles, adding another for the Broadcast
Mix position, for the 8,400 seating capacity worship facility. This accomplishment
helped the church define the new construction as "State of the Art".
The digital consoles were sonically superior to the analogue consoles and remain
a technological testimony to what is available for ministries that desire the
best for their congregation. Kirk recently completed the Yamaha Commercial
Audio PM1D Operational Training
School, maintaining familiarity with the updated software and capabilities
of the console.
Kirk
Denson is currently Sound Editor of Music, Dialogue and Effects
for Skywalker Sound,
world renowned post-production facility owned by legendary filmmaker, George
Lucas. Skywalker Sound
has garnered numerous Academy Awards for excellence in Sound
Design and Mixing. Kirk was Certified as a THX®
Designer/Installer in March of 2002 and Audio Acoustics
Home Theatre was founded.
COMMERCIAL/RESIDENTIAL
PROJECTS APPROACH
As a consultant for residential, commercial and worship facilities projects
the approach is to begin with the end in mind. First on the agenda is to determine
the customers specific needs. Many hours are spent in conference with the customer
to understand the production goals. As an example, for worship facilities, visits
to the existing facility are arranged to experience a worship service and determine
to what degree the style of worship is spoken word or praise and worship oriented.
Thorough assessments, such as this, will prove invaluable during the design
phase.
Acoustics
In the commercial marketplace, our business is focused, primarily on worship
facilities where room acoustics has historically been an area of neglect. This
is true of both existing and new facilities. Whatever the case may be, the company
performs a preliminary acoustical analysis which consists of:
a)
an examination of the floor plans
b)
pictures and/or video to conceptualize the space to be evaluated (for existing
facilities)
c)
an RT-60 test (for existing facilities)
d)
a brief summary narrative (for existing facilities) describing the problems
experienced
After
this acoustical analysis is evaluated recommendations are made towards treating
the offending hard surfaces (walls, windows, floors, seating surfaces, etc.)
with the intended end result being a room that is "tuned" and "dialed
in" to the parameters that are perfect for your listening environment.
As an Authorized Factory Representative for Acoustic
Sciences Corporation, Kirk Denson has the resources to address
your unique acoustics challenges.
Sound
Once
the acoustical challenges are addressed and satisfied, the focus is turned towards
the sound system. Kirk Denson is dedicated to designing and specifying a system
that fits both the intended environment as well as the budget. Only the most
respected manufacturers in the Professional Audio Community are specified. Names
such as L-Acoustics®,
d&b audiotechnik
and EAW®
for loudspeakers; Yamaha®,
Midas®
and Soundcraft®
for mixing desks; klark-teknik®
and Drawmer®
for signal processing; LabGruppen®
and Crown®
for power amplifiers and Audio-Technica®, Schoeps®,
Sennheiser®
and Shure®
for microphones, just to name a few. A few of these manufacturers are not normally
specified for worship facilities systems. This is a fact that Kirk is very aware
of, but fully intends to stand by his chioce of offering the best to the worship
based community.
Consultation
As
your consultant, Kirk Denson takes a "hands-on" approach, interacting during
the construction process with the builders, system installers and all contractors
connected with your audio and video systems. Whether it is a home entertainment
system, commercial installation or a worship facility, he will represent your
production valued interests throughout the building and installation process
through completion. For commercial construction and worship facilities, at the
end of the installation phase, of paramount importance is the training of individuals
designated by you as the system operators. For home theater systems, the home
owner is walked through the paces of operating the system as it is designed
for ease of use.
